The Team

Adviser Relationship Manager

Cheryl is the longest serving member of the Newpark team having started in 2002. She is passionate about what she does and enjoys working closely with the Advisers in their business.

Prior to joining Newpark, Cheryl spent five years working for State Insurance as Customer Relationship Manager.  In her spare time she enjoys a little bit (lot) of retail therapy.

The Tech Guy

Clive has always had an interest in all things IT since getting his first computer many, many years ago.

He graduated from Massey University in 2002 with a Bachelor if Information Science, and since then he has worked in many different positions across all areas of technology before finding his calling at Newpark.

He takes great pride in ensuring that our advisers have the electronic tools they need to get the job done.

The Business Analyst

Tara is an experienced administrator in both the financial services and building industries.

She loves working with large data sets and is a self-confessed nerd when it comes to numbers. She is skilled in data analysis, administration, information systems management, sales reporting, project management and process improvement. Tara enjoys problem solving and thinking of end-to-end solutions.

Outside of work, she loves to travel and enjoys cooking.

Adviser On-boarding

Candice is an experienced Key Accounts Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the building materials industry. Skilled in Relationship building, Interpersonal Skills, Management, Teamwork, and Client Liaison. She is a strong sales professional with a passion for people.

The Accountant

Kate is a self-employed contractor providing accountancy services to many businesses in her home town, Palmerston North.  She made the decision two years ago to provide back-up for accountants for few hours each week but as a certified MYOB provider that soon became a full time.

Many Advisers in the Newpark Home Loans group will remember Kate from years gone past when she administered commission payments.  A few years have passed since then and it’s great to have her back again as an integral member of the Newpark team.

Her husband, Andrew, is (surprise, surprise) a Chartered Accountant and partner at a local firm.  The three children aged 17, 9 and 8 years old keep them very busy with their passion for Hockey, Dance and Cricket.  When she does have spare time she enjoys it with her family, loves to travel and loves to shop even more!

The Financial Controller

Adele has been working in the Newpark office for over 15 years, she oversees the financial accounts and is responsible for liaising with various contacts to keep our offices running smoothly.

She is a great source of information with knowledge in payroll and financial processes. Prior to working with Newpark she spent 10 years working in the share broking industry before joining Darren and Cheryl in the Newpark offices.

The Head of Strategic Relationships

Gopal is a leader in the financial services industry with 25 years’ experience. For three years running he was the top international mortgage Adviser for Loan Market.

With many qualifications, BSc, MBA and MIAM, he is well qualified to help many Advisers across the country progress their businesses.

Gopal will be directly responsible for creating new strategic relationships with Newpark Home Loans in the Adviser community and shaping the technical  development program for mortgage Advisers.

General Manager

Andrew is leading a transformation change in the New Zealand financial Adviser market away from the traditional Adviser dealer group model to the newer more nuanced Adviser Group operating model.

He joined in 2018 to establish Newpark Home Loans as the fastest growing Adviser group in the New Zealand mortgage broker market.  He has successfully established a full panel of retail bank and second tier lenders as well as delivering a unique operating model that provides mortgage Advisers with real choice and value.

He is enjoying the challenges of the new regulatory regime and joined Newpark as he feels we are the best placed group in New Zealand to take advantage of the new legislative environment. Andrew is keen to create and maintain a stable environment for members were they have the best opportunity to grow and develop and succeed.

After gaining a Bachelor of Arts from Otago University, Andrew joined the insurance industry where he has been for the last 25 years (22 of them with Sovereign) working in various roles (Distribution, Technology Projects, Home Loans, Life Underwriting). He also gained postgraduate qualifications in Management from Auckland University along the way as well as the Level 5 National Certificate in Financial Services (he is all too aware of what lies ahead for Advisers as they ready themselves for licensing).

When not working Andrew enjoys spending time relaxing at the Coromandel, skiing, or just spending time with his wife and his six year-old twins, Grace and James.
